Gudang Garam InterMusic Java Rockin'land was held for the first time in 2009. On 7, 8, 9 August 2009, the likes of Mr. Big, Mew, Mêlée, Vertical Horizon, Third Eye Blind, Secondhand Serenade, Slank, /rif, Superman is Dead, Gigi, Special Project Tribute to Immortal Legends, Killed by Butterfly, Beside, Navicula and a number of other excellent rock groups rocked the stages and attracted approximately 46,000 audience. It was a great start for the first international-class rock festival in Indonesia.

The pre-events of Gudang Garam InterMusic Java Rockin'land 2009 were held in 4 cities and attracted 22,000 visitors, clearly exhibiting the rock genre's allure and substantial fanbase in Indonesia. It is no wonder that regeneration of the genre's musicians and bands continue to evolve, some of which even succeeded to penetrate the international market.

A few special notes from Gudang Garam InterMusic Java Rockin'land 2009:
• The unfortunate news of Indonesia's security-related events did not hinder musicians and rock enthusiasts to attend Gudang Garam InterMusic Java Rockin'land 2009.
• Gudang Garam InterMusic Java Rockin'land 2009 received steady inquiries of interest from foreign enthusiasts of the genre, including agents and international event organizer.
• Indonesian bands and rock musicians were in no way dwarfed by international rock bands' presence. A number of the non-Indonesian bands' managers even took the time to record the performances of some Indonesian rock bands.
• Both international and Indonesian musicians and rock music enthusiasts revelled in the festival's lively ambiance.
• The 2009 edition of the festival was concrete proof that a rock event can be held smoothly and safely.
• A lot of Indonesia's rock music enthusiasts who rarely got to witness their favorite bands live in action, were able to do so without significant hassle.
• Those who enjoyed the Festival (and there were many of them), were already looking forward to Java Rockin'land's next instalment.

Gudang Garam InterMusic Java Rockin'land 2010 is the answer provided by Java Festival Production (JFP) to the rock enthusiasts' intense request for the rock music party's continuity. Just as the year before, the event is sponsored by Gudang Garam International through its music brand Gudang Garam InterMusic. Also as the previous year, Telkomsel and Tebs return to support Java Rockin'land's return.
